Oms Drivers’ Challenge 2008

Thanks again to all who supported the OMS Drivers Challenge last year.

We hope you will join us in the 2008 Challenge. We have received some good feedback and have adopted some of these ideas, hopefully to give an even better challenge in 2008. It’s still free to enter and even easier to submit your results. There is a reduced, yes reduced prize fund for the winners, but now everyone who registers gets a free T-shirt and the top 10 finishers receive a sweatshirt. We look forward to seeing you on the track this season.

An additional prize of £50 is being offered by Roger Moran of Moran Motorhomes. This prize is for the youngest highest points scorer in the OMS Challenge.

Steve & Lynn Owen.

For further details of the challenge, contact the Co-ordinator Jackie Wilson by telephone on 01423 339062 or by e-mail.

Please forward your date of birth to Jackie if you wish to be considered for the youngest highest points scoring prize.

A copy of the regulations together with a registration form can be downloaded here.

Congratulations to our 2007 Challenge winners:

1st Place:  Andy McBeath adapted well to his OMS Hornet Suzuki and scored consistently through the season, including class wins at Gurston, Prescott and Shelsley.

2nd Place:  Barry Hunts’ move to Cornwall gave him a steep learning curve on the south west venues. An impressive string of 10 class wins in the 2000M Blackbird kept him near the top of the table—unfortunately his scores suffered in the small classes.

3rd Place:  Meanwhile at the other end of the country, Steve Marr (SF2 Kawasaki 1098cc) scored well with class wins at Fintray, Golspie and Forrestburn.
