OMS Driver Wins Sporting Achievement Award

The Guernsey Sports Commission hosted the 2014 Sporting Achievement Awards on Thursday 15th January 2015 at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre. The awards were established to recognise some of the best sporting achievements from the sporting calendar in the previous year and are given to sportspeople, coaches and teams that train and compete in Guernsey.

OMS driver Sarah Gaudion was one of this years award recipients. Sarah's award is in recognition of her performance throughout the 2014 season and in particular at Le Val des Terres Hillclimb. In August Sarah reset her own outright ladies hill record at Le Val des Terres, becoming the first lady to have ever climbed the course in under the illusive 30 second barrier.

Sarah came tantalisingly close in 2013 with a time of 30.01 seconds. At the August 2014 event she broke through the barrier with her time of 29.95 seconds to set a new outright ladies hill record and become the first lady to ever run a sub 30 second climb at the venue.

During the season Sarah also secured two more outright ladies records one at Bouley Bay hillclimb in Jersey and the other in Alderney.

A superb effort from Sarah and one that would not have been possible without the constant support of her family, especially mum and dad Joyce and Gordon Brehaut.

Congratulations to Sarah on winning this award and all the best for the 2015 season.
