The Message

As there is on-going concern regarding ROPS (Roll Over Protection Structure) requirements for 2017, we are working with the MSA and MIRA to get OMS roll hoops approved and expect to have them fully compliant in the near future. Here is a list of the various OMS models and their current status:

OMS 25: Fully approved. Certificates are now available to purchase (£96 inc.vat at 20%) from OMS Racing.

OMS Hornet:  MIRA simulation passed and approved by the MSA. We are awaiting delivery of the certificates.

OMS 28: MIRA simulation passed. The application for approval by the MSA is being processed.

OMS 2000M: MIRA simulation passed with a minor upgrade to the structure and approved by the MSA. We are awaiting delivery of the certificates.

Working with MIRA we have engineered a minor upgrade which involves welding a gusset between the main hoop and stay.

OMS 2000M Roll Hoop

This should be a straightforward upgrade; we will shortly have the gussets available for purchase. We can fit these at a total cost (including certificate) of £156 inc.vat at 20%. Alternatively we have made arrangements with Force Racing to have them fitted; or we can supply gussets for you to have them fitted by a competent welder. In the latter cases the cost for parts and certificates only, will be £103.20 inc.vat at 20%. Please note the gussets must be fitted for the certificate to be valid.

OMS CF 04 onwards: MIRA simulation passed. The application for approval by the MSA is being processed.

OMS PR: This is currently with MIRA for testing and we are awaiting the results of the simulation; positive result expected week beginning 19/12/16.

The new 3000M will be delivered complete with ROPS certification.

Note: if your roll hoop has been altered from the original factory specification then the certification will not be valid; please contact us as below to discuss.

As you can imagine this is creating a high workload. To ensure we deal effectively with this please contact us initially by email: info@omsracing.co.uk stating your name and chassis number in all correspondence. Please note your chassis number is important as it forms part of the unique certification number you will be allocated. We will endeavour to reply within 24 hours.
