Prescott Hillclimb 2nd May 2011

Three new OMS 25 cars made their first appearance at the opening round of the Nicholson McLaren British Hillclimb Championship meeting at Prescott this weekend. None of the cars had turned a wheel before arriving at the meeting.

The jointly owned car of Tim Wilson and Lee Griffiths left the OMS works on the Thursday night and James Blackmores' car at lunchtime on the Friday for him to travel straight to the meeting. The Trevor Willis car was still being prepared the week before the meeting by Trevor.

The Wilson/Griffiths/Blackmore cars are powered by 1600cc Hayabusa engines whilst Willis is using the brand new PowerTec 3.2 litre V8 engine this season.

All cars and drivers gave good performances and once settled into their new cars we will see strong challenges for class and champioship positions.

Steve and Lynn Owen were shaking down their OMS 25 following development work during the winter and Steve finished 6th overall in class with Tim Wilson finishing just behind in 7th from a class of 17 cars.

Unfortunately the Rollason/Bates car had to withdraw from the meeting following a breakage of 2nd gear at the Loton Park meeting the previous weekend. The car is back at OMS and will be out for the next round at Loton Park in May.
